Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)
ADMS – Advisory for PowerGridX™ "As-Operated" Model
Integrating disparate systems and data sources necessitates a network model with real-time capabilities. To effectively run Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) applications, the network model must incorporate Geographic Information System (GIS) connectivity and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) real-time operational data. While many utilities utilize GIS to construct network models, these models are typically static and do not reflect the dynamic nature of network operations. GIS models depict the physical network structure, which is beneficial for asset management and inventory tracking. Conversely, the ADMS model is an operational model that represents the network’s current state and adapts in real time. This “as-operated” model integrates AMI real-time and near-real-time data, enabling utilities to monitor the system’s live conditions continuously.
